Forging the Future of Health: How SFH Rwanda’s Partnerships Create Lasting Change

Subtitle: Collaborative opportunities with trusted global & local organizations

The daily work of advancing public health unfolds not through the efforts of a single entity, but through a complex and deeply interconnected ecosystem of collaboration.

At the center of this network, the Society for Family Health (SFH) Rwanda operates as a crucial nexus, weaving together the strategic priorities of the government, the financial and technical power of global institutions, the innovation of the private sector, and the vital reach of community networks.

  1. The Foundational Alliance: The Government of Rwanda

The most critical partnership for SFH Rwanda is its foundational alliance with the Government of Rwanda. This is not a peripheral relationship but a deep integration, ensuring all programs are aligned with the national vision for health and development.

Partners: Ministry of Health (MoH) and the Rwanda Biomedical Centre (RBC).

Nature of the Partnership: SFH Rwanda functions as a key implementing partner for Rwanda’s Health Sector Strategic Plan (HSSP). It translates national health policies into tangible, on-the-ground programs. The government provides the mandate, the policy framework, and the public infrastructure, while SFH provides programmatic expertise, operational agility, and last-mile delivery capabilities.

Scope of Collaboration: This alliance spans nearly every major public health challenge, including:

HIV/AIDS: Implementing prevention strategies like voluntary medical male circumcision, promoting condom use, and supporting access to testing and treatment services for all.

Malaria: Leading large-scale campaigns for the distribution of  LLINs, repellents and promoting early diagnosis and treatment.

Tuberculosis (TB): Supporting case finding and ensuring treatment adherence within communities.

Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health (MNCH) & Family Planning (FP): Expanding access to quality services, a cornerstone of SFH’s mission, in direct support of national goals to reduce mortality rates.

Through these collaborations, we’ve helped create over 491 jobs, treated nearly 100,000 children under five, and empowered local entrepreneurs to manage and grow health services within their own communities.

Our partnerships are built on trust and a common purpose. We don’t just work together, we co-create solutions, share risks, and build systems that communities can own for generations to come.
