Program: SFH Rwanda in collaboration with two faith-based organizations is advancing HIV prevention through peer education and condom awareness among adolescent girls and young women in the districts of Rwamagana and Gasabo to build their social assets in HIV risk reduction. The project works with trained peer educators and mentors who are based at village level and meet with girls and young women through small group sessions on a weekly basis during which HIV preventive strategies are discussed and myths and misconceptions about condom use are dispelled. The project aims to increase access to condoms to adolescent girls and young women for prevention of HIV infection and unplanned pregnancy.
